A Busy Morning, Small Wins & Big Dreams
Hi Soft Warrior Diaries,
I’ve been trying to dedicate my weekends—and ideally every morning—to myself. The idea is to start my day grounded, but truth be told, mornings have never been my thing. Most days I go straight from the shower to getting dressed, then rush off to work with coffee in hand. I’ve been telling myself that I’ll “find the right time,” but maybe I just need to push myself a little more. I want to start the day with me first—before giving all my energy to other people’s businesses.
This morning was a bit different. Normally, I sleep in until around 10am on weekends, but today was special. My husband came back from a two-month business trip overseas. Usually, I’d be the one to pick him up, but this time my niece and her husband offered. After their late night out, my niece couldn’t wake up, so it ended up being just her husband and me. My husband was surprised (and pretty amused) to see him pull up in a Porsche. A little unexpected twist to the morning, but fun nonetheless.
Work-wise, this week has been busy but productive. Things are on track, and I even took a big step for myself—I enrolled in the FMVA certification! Fingers crossed I can complete it within two months before moving on to the next challenge. On top of that, I managed to keep up with all five of my workout classes: three Pilates reformer sessions and two spinning classes. That consistency feels like such an achievement—woohoo!
But there’s still this one part of me that won’t stay quiet: my urge to become an entrepreneur. I’ve recorded a few sample YouTube videos, and honestly, they’re not that bad. Yet I keep holding myself back from posting. I wait for the “perfect topic” or “perfect timing.” Sometimes I tell myself maybe after I get my certification. My brain is always pushing and pulling—but maybe that’s a sign. A sign that it’s time to step a little further out of my comfort zone and give my creative mind the space it’s asking for.
Takeaway for myself:
You don’t need the “perfect timing” to start something meaningful.
Small, consistent steps—whether it’s dedicating a few minutes to yourself, sharing your story, or trying something new—are what build momentum.
Celebrate your wins, embrace the unexpected, and don’t wait to take imperfect action.
Growth and creativity happen when you show up, even if it feels messy at first.
