Finance. Marriage. And the quiet intelligence of parents.

Not trying to solve anything.
Just reflecting.

What happens when a family stays under one roof,
but hearts are already separated?

The wife doesn’t speak to her mother-in-law,
yet they live together.

The wife doesn’t speak to her husband,
yet they share the same room —
“for the sake of the daughter.”

But words still exist.
Just not spoken directly.

Instead, they turn into complaints,
whispers,
and stories told behind each other’s backs.

And slowly, all of that pressure lands on one person —
the daughter.

She asks for help.
She asks questions.

“Why does my mum talk badly about my dad?”
“I don’t like hearing that.”

She’s stressed.
Confused.
Carrying emotions that were never hers to hold.

It makes me wonder —
what is the purpose of this marriage now?
Is there still something good being protected here?

They say time will tell.
Maybe even a family trip will change something.

But this has been going on for years.
And it hasn’t gotten better.

My only concern is the child —
growing up inside a silence that’s actually very loud.

Sometimes staying together isn’t the same as staying healthy.
And children feel everything,
even when adults think they’re hiding it.
